Over two fun days, you will discover how to deal with painful thoughts and feelings skilfully and easily by learning and practising mindfulness. You will also discover the cause of any unhappiness, sadness, guilt and negativity: getting lost in your thoughts.
Our Weekend Workshops offer:
- A simple, straightforward introduction to mindfulness skills.
- An emphasis on practical exercises which can be practised easily at home.
- A relaxed, enjoyable and fun learning environment.
You will learn how to:
- Bring your attention into the present moment, bringing freedom you from pain and problems
- Skilfully deal with painful emotions and challenging thoughts so they no longer rule your life
- Let go of painful thoughts and beliefs, leading to more joy and peace right now
The aim of Mindful Living Weekends is that students walk away with the skills, knowledge and understanding to continue practising on their own. You will learn how to be mindful in everyday situations, leading to a more peaceful, happier and contented life. Weekend workshops are suitable for new students and those with experience. They involve a combination of guided mindfulness, discussion and explanation to gradually deepen your understanding of mindfulness practice, while the provision of written resources supports your practice of mindfulness after the weekend has finished.
All classes are taught by Oli Doyle.
Benefits of studying with Peace Through Mindfulness:
- We don’t use confusing jargon or religious terminology, in fact classes are totally secular.
- Every student receives email support for life and we offer a total refund if you are not satisfied.
- We teach you how to practise on your own, putting you in control of your own happiness.
- Our classes are practical, rather than theoretical.
- We offer (as far as we are aware), the only secular mindfulness workshops in Victoria.

We are a team of researchers at the University of Melbourne’s School of Behavioural Science. We are currently undertaking a research project exploring the potential benefits of meditation. Our project has been approved by the University of Melbourne Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC #: 1033604.1).
We are seeking participants for the project and have approached people we know to assist by (i) participating in the study and (ii) forwarding this email among their networks to invite others to participate in the project. We hope that you will be able to help. Your assistance is of course voluntary and anonymous.
The study is for research purposes only. It forms part of Dominic Hosemans 4th Year Psychology course requirements at the University of Melbourne and is being conducted under the supervision of Dr. Lisa Phillips. The study involves completing an online survey which will take between 20 to 30 minutes.
If you agree to participate in the study, you will remain free to withdraw at any time and to withdraw any unprocessed data.
For more information on the study or to access the online survey, please go to:

Dr. Phillips will be available to speak with you about any aspect of the study and may be contacted at lisajp@unimelb.edu.au or 9035 5180. Should you have any questions or concerns about the conduct of the study, please do not hesitate to contact the Executive Officer of the University Human Research Ethics on 8344 2073.
